Born in Beijing, China, in 1985, Shuang Wu (吴双) came to Newfoundland, Canada in 2007. Although he has been studying and working in the tech sector, he is always fond of music with depth and complexity, such as Dream Theater and Pink Floyd.

When his oldest daughter started learning violin in 2021, he picked up a violin and tagged along too, and that’s when he found his new hobby: classical composition. Now his favourite musicians are Bach, Beethoven and Mahler.

He learned counterpoints, harmonies, forms, orchestration, notations and engraving, mostly from YouTube channels, as well as in private lessons.
